Potty Habits
What Are Abnormal Potty Habits?
Any urine or bowel movement problems that occur
after potty training in otherwise healthy children, are considered abnormal
potty habits. These problems can develop in young, school-age,and adolescent
children. These include:
Urine accidents
Urinary frequency
Urinary urgency
Urinary tract infections
Holding urine or stool
Constipation
Encopresis (stool accidents)
Abdominal (belly) pain
Stained underwear
Bedwetting that is associated with other daytime
problems
If your child’s potty habits result in infections, social issues, pain,
and problems with day-to-day living then they need to be addressed.
